Robotics is a new program taking place 8th hour every Tuesday and Thursday. Mr. Trudgeon led our team (Jenna Hash, Jade Monville, Dakota Haapala, Jamie Isabel, Kelly Berndt, River Nelson, Gentry Brand, Dustin Doverspike) to build an awesome robot named Click. This is the school’s first year having a robotics team, and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. The Robotics team took a three day, two night, trip to the Escanaba high school where they placed 26 out of 40 teams that played there.

     Their second competition was at Lake Superior State University. They placed 30 out of 41. They also won the Rookie Inspiration Award, an award honored to a rookie team that has made a big impact throughout the competition. Team 5989 of FIRST Robotics is currently looking for new recruits for the following year. Think about joining ahead of time so we can keep this amazing program going. Another awesome thing about FIRST Robotics is the scholarship opportunities. FIRST Robotics offers many scholarships for people who have been involved in these competitions.
